Just bought some Aeronef.
Anyone know if the game needs hex mat/surface or are ranges just measured ?

Measuring - plays better using inches from the supplement than the original players handbook - using half turns in centimetres - when it is tweaked to tie in with Land leviathans. Which fleet did you buy? The new Brits do look nice I have Turks and Italians -- it is a game crying out for a good set of rules, the Gruntz guy had a go (I'm bringing a copy over tonight) [Matt and I did back the Kickstarter] but there not good enough, some nice touches but boarding actions is an untested mess. So stick to the Wessex games [download from Wargamers vault - of I can e-mail you the files] set and have some beer and pretzel fun. Matt Hay has Germans but those still need loving after over a decade of shininess. Best thing about it is the linked scenario Download it from www.drivethrurpg.com/product/78217/Aeronef-Over-The-Aegean best £1 I ever spent and as it went to charity. But if you really went the file -- ask

How do people store 'nefs ? and do you use the "normal" flying bases ? *** and just remembered the reason i finally jumped on the Nef wagon, saw on TMP a news post that Brigade remodelled the minis, and with all the spare cash from confront-clas, finally jumped in

Mine live in K&R trays -- you may have one some where.
Stands did try magnets but generally I prefer plastic ones which tilt but can't remember where I got mine from. Fighter stands for the small aircraft work fine, if I remember will bring some along next week
In the Imperial skies book he uses the rolls royce of stands so if your rich and want to mess around with magnets.....
Best games I've played are on top of OS maps -- seems odd but great for mission based games. Drop / pick up spy from here. Petrol X to Y then Z, reinforcements enter here, bomb there, refuelling tower is at... and so forth
